Feargal Cochrane is Director of the Richardson Institute, a peace and conflict research centre at Lancaster University. His research focuses on Northern Ireland, migration, civil society and emerging peace processes within ethnically divided societies. Beyond the Irish case, he is interested in how diaspora communities intersect with peace processes within violently divided societies and in how these groups engage from the outside, with the political and cultural processes taking place within their countries of origin. His research on migration, peace and conflict has appeared in the Journal of Peace Research and Nationalism and Ethnic Politics. His latest book, Ending Wars, was published by Polity Press in 2008 and is part of the Polity series War and Conflict in the Modern World. He is currently working on a book about Irish-America entitled The Fading of the Green, which will be published in 2009 by Irish Academic Press.
